Poojya Gurudev

Swami Chinmayanandha Maharaj

On 8 May 1916, a child was born as so many other children were born. Born to ordinary parents – a lawyer father, a home maker mother. Balan went to school like all kids do, he later acquired a degree in English Literature, plunge into the Freedom Movement of India against British rule, be imprisoned, fall frightfully ill, be thrown out of jail for that, be rescued by a strange lady, start writing for a newspaper, make fiery speeches and plan even more fiery exposes and then, all too suddenly abandon all that, for none of them explained to him the purpose of his birth.

Special Navagraha Homa

The influence of Navagrahas on human life has been proved by belief and science. During the transit of planets when they stay at favourable positions they give fortunes and benefits and at unfavourable positions, they give mysteries and misfortunes. If the harmful planet and the period of its evil effect are known, the suitable remedy has to be done. For every planet, 15 types of remedies are prescribed. Homa worship and charity are important among them. All types of evolutions of all the moving and unmoving things control the results of our actions in previous births which cause different stages in the progress of human life. Navagrahas control and give these results to us. Zodiacal change in planetary position after sunrise occurs only once in 4 years. The first day of the month of Medam is also the holy day in which sun enters Medam, which is its house of Zodiac on the ascendant. Generally, the first day of Medam is being celebrated as Vishu. In every 4 years, Vishu is celebrated on the second day of Medam and on the first day of Medam special Navagraha Homa is also performed. Since this homa is very special, devotees from various parts of the country reach the temple for witnessing the thanthrik rituals.

Thaipooyam

For getting the mercy of Lord Subramanya, ‘Rudhrabhishekam’, ‘Kavadi pooja’ and ‘Abhishekam’ are conducted and in the evening special Niramala, temple arts etc are also organized.
